The Reading Fightin’ Phils were ready for a fresh alter ego, and our team stepped up to the plate. We were challenged to create a locally inspired, food-focused theme night that brings the community together while energizing the brand. After exploring Pennsylvania Dutch staples and regional favorites, one ingredient stood out: apples, specifically the imperfect ones. Repurposed, resilient, and full of character, these underdogs inspired the Reading Bruisers, a bold new identity built from the ground up. From logos and merchandise to advertisements and experiences, we created a playful brand that celebrates grit, community, and the idea that the strongest teams are never built on perfection.
